Day 1: Out of the Chutes

Friday July 15, 0600...not quite at full afterburners...trying to ride 600 miles in an hour just don't happen but it is hard to mellow out and find a groove during the first hour or two of the run. That is Wyatt on rear security. We dodged a.m. rush hour traffic on 283 out of Lancaster County on our way up to the PA Turnpike. IF we would have had the time we would have jumped on the Lincoln Highway over in York but the trade off was to blast down the Turnpike for the sake of time and pick up US30 outside of Pittsburgh. So, our basic route for Day 1 was 283 W, PA Turnpike W, onto US 30 outside of Pittsburgh and to continue on '30 until Plymouth, Indiana.
